How Green Am I?

Since I was a child I always asked myself where the rubbish that we were producing did it go. When I start to grow up and understand the world, I could't believe that all the rubbish went to stop to a basural, that just didn't make sense to me because I thought (and think right know) one day there's going to be so much rubbish in the world that we won't know what to do with it.

It's because of that, and the recent green life style of our days, that I decided to cooperate with the cause of take care about our planet. Even when I know that my way of helping is not very powerful, however I recycle all the things that I can: paper, magazines, glass and plastic bottles, tetrapack, batteries, etc. Also I take care of the trees, plants, animals, and even insects (I feel sad when a kill them without wishing) and when I take a shower I try to spend as little as possible of water and stay there less of 15 minutes, also I don't buy spray deodorant because I know the label is lying when it says that the product don't ruin the ozone layer.

I'm not part of any green association, but when I was in school I founded a recycle group that wanted to promote the green life between the students, right know that group is still working and they have reached a lot of objectives, that's makes me very happy!

In this cause, I hate Santiago because there is few places when you can recycle stuff, and there are only located in the high neighborhood, unfortunately that's because in the poor places people don't have the recycling habit, that's why since the person is a child the parents have to teach they to worry about the planet.

Art.

The concept of "art" is very complex, it's difficult to understand it if you start thinking about it... I think it's like to ask yourself as an anthropologist: "what's culture?", it's the same thing.

For me, art is a way to expression of the human being, without art the world would be a horrible and darker place. I think that everyone have creativity inside oneself but it's depends if the person develops that creativity or not, also I think some people really have talent for art and others simply not, so it's more difficult for them to be "creatives".

I think that we can make art with everything, is not necessary that your creation is beautiful, even so, some kinds of art don't make me feel anything, for example, contemporary art. Maybe a white square with a fly in the middle could be considered art, but that doesn't mean anything to me. It's the same with the contemporary dance... I hate it, there are strange movements only!

Well, since I was a child I liked to draw and paint a lot, in fact, the walls of my house were always full of colors, stripes and own drawings. Nevertheless, in this moment the most important kind of art is music. I don't know if that's because of my parents (they play a lot of instruments) or just because I like it, maybe is a mix of both. There was a time when I played a lot of instruments: piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, mouth-organ, etc. But right now I have left all that, which makes me sad... I hope one day come back to those times!

My Future Job.

My dream job is an activity that I will enjoyed very much mixed with helping people or changing of the society in one way or another. I'm going to work a lot with humans remains, so I imagine I will analyse and interpret them to give them a good use or to discover something important related with a situation of the past. I think I'll work either indoors like outdoors, the first option because is my usual site of work is the lab, place where I examine human remains, and de second option because is I suppose I will have to go out to do fiel work, for example in a archaeologic excavation. About this last idea, I would like very much to travel to different places around the word making investigations about human evolution and ancient cultures.

One day I'd like to work in a university like a professor too because I think it would be nice to teach others about my speciality (I don't know what it would be yet) in any subject associated with Biological Anthropology. I think that my major could be related with human evolution or something about primatology, but it's just an idea, I'm not sure right know... Maybe when I have started my third year of the career, in the physical/biological speciality, I will discover another areas of interest and then I will can choose one being more informed.

Dreams.

Life is a dream, say some people. What are dreams exactly? I suppose they are just mind games generated by our subconscious, I think they reflect our deepest wishes and fears, so that's why sometimes we have nice dreams and nightmares. Also if we are in a big trouble usually we dream about that, despite we don't want to.

Usually I don't remember my dreams. Many years ago I slept with a notebook on my nightstand, so when I woke up in the middle of the night after a strange or interesting dream I wrote it in the notebook, so the next day I read it and I got surprised. Right now I don't do that, but I think it would be a good idea to write them again.

In normal day I "dream awake" sometimes, for example when I'm boring or tired in class I imagine that I'm leaving the university and coming back home to sleep again, but I know it's not real.

And if we look dreams like aims, I think is good to have dreams. If you work hard you can get anything you want, but sometimes there aren't the opportunities and the help needed to make dreams come true, so unfortunately it's imposible to achieve them.

In the future, one of my dreams is generate a important and positive change in the society, I don't know exactly what and how, but I don't want to die without leave a brand in this world.

My Best Concert

In my life a have enjoyed a lot of good concerts, so it's difficult for me to choose one of them like the best one. Considering better situations, I think that McFly concert has been one of the best concerts I have assisted. First of all, McFly is a british band founded in 2003, they play pop rock and their songs are very good and energetic, specially the first ones, but right now their style have changed a lot. 

I like this band very much since 2006 and when they came to Chile I was very excited with my fried Laura (who liked the band too). The concert was perfect, we enjoyed it very much, we were jumping and singing all the songs since the beginning till the end of the concert. We knew all the song because we were like the number one fans of the band! The best thing is that my friend participated in a magazine competition and she won! The prize was a MEET&GREET WITH MCFLY! And she could invite someone to go with her and she choose, of course, ME. So, we met McFly in person and I hugged my favorite singer of the band: Dougie. That was a unbelievable and incredible day, I will never forget it.

My Childhood

Some things remember me how happy I was in my childhood, for example, some specific places make me transport to those memories and situations, like parks where I used to play with others kids, streets I used to wander with my family or my old apartment in Ñuñoa where a lived almost my whole childhood, where my grandparents are living right now.
My first childhood memorie is the apartment I mentioned, before that I lived in Peñaflor, only with my parents, but I can't remember anything about that. When my little sister was born I was living at the apartment in Ñuñoa. In that place we were very friendly with each other and we played together all day. I remember when she was born, and my parents arrived home with her and with a bike too, and they said that the bike was a gift from sister to me, then I was 3 or 4 years old, I'm not sure.
When I was a child I watched a lot of TV, my favorite TV serie was the Teletubbies, I loved it, I don't know exactly why... and I watched a lot of movies too, like Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, Winnie The Pooh (I loved it very much), Beauty And The Beast, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, etc., and it was funny because I always watched the same movies again and again without getting bored. My parents tell to me that I couldn't go to bed if I haven't watched the scene of Snow White when dwarfs went to sleep and the protagonist sang a sleeping song.
I think I had a glad and adorable childhood, sometimes I wish to come back to those years just to live those moments and enjoy them one more time.

A Country I Would Like To Visit.

    When I was younger I didn't care about travelling to another countries, in fact I never thought that it was something especial, it was only one more activity to do. But when I traveled with my family in 2009 to a lot of countries, then I really discovered the charm of travelling. In that opportunity, we traveled to England, Finland, Estonia and Sweden, and actually that experience changed my mind and my vision about the world and the different cultures. Right now I would like to travel to a million of interesting and beautiful countries, and one of them is Iceland.
I choose Iceland because I'm curious about that country, I don't know about it very much but I have seen some photos and it looks very nice and beautiful, with green hills and little houses, and a lot of snow in winter. Also, I have heard that the mythology in there is about elves, gnomes, fairies and others fantastic beings and things, and I like that kind of legends very much. Even like one year ago I read a report that said that the government has accepted that the elves, fairies, and another magic creatures actually exist, saying that they are invisible and are very important for the country. I think that is totally amazing. 

In addition, I read an investigation that said Iceland is the best country if you are a woman, because the difference between genders is very low, women and men have the same rights.
